ERA 2018 Highest Rating for Distributed Computing @ Melbourne
Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) administered by the Australian Research Council (ARC), in its ERA 2018 evaluation report released recently (late March 2019), offered Distributed Computing research at the University of Melbourne highest rating (5 - "well above" world standard). ERA is Australia's national research evaluation framework that identifies and promotes research excellence in Australia's higher education institutions. A Manifesto for Future Generation Cloud Computing
A team of international experts (from Australia, USA, Europe, Brazil, China, India) have put together a 2030 Research Agenda for Cloud computing. Since 2007, GRIDS Lab has been working on Cloud Computing along with Grid Computing. During the last 2 years, Cloud Computing related R&D activities have peaked in GRIDS Lab and we launched a new flagship project, called Cloudbus, for Cloud Computing. In recognition of this new thrust in Cloud Computing, we renamed GRIDS Lab as CLOUDS Lab!
