About
Following the previous six successful editions of IDCS: IDCS'08 in Khulna, Bangladesh, IDCS'09 in Jeju Island, Korea, IDCS'10 and IDCS'11 in Melbourne, Australia, IDCS'12 in Wu Yi Shan, China, IDCS'13 in Hangzhou, China; this is the seventh edition in its series to promote research in diverse fields related to Internet and Distributed Computing Systems.
IDCS'14 is organized by the University of Calabria (Unical), Department of Informatics, Modeling, Electronics and Systems (DIMES), a public higher educational institution focusing on many fields from business to engineering, from science to literature and social sciences. UNICAL is located in Rende (CS), Italy, in the Calabria region.
The Conference venue will be on the Calabrian coast near the International Airport of Lamezia Terme.
DIMES is main sponsor of IDCS'14, along with support from Sensyscal S.r.l., the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and Daily Positive (D+).
Conference Scope
The emergence of Web as a ubiquitous platform for innovations has laid the foundation for the rapid growth of the Internet. Side-by-side, the use of mobile and wireless devices such as PDA, laptop, and cell phones for accessing the Internet has paved the ways for related technologies to flourish through recent developments. In addition, the popularity of sensor networks is promoting better integration of the digital world with physical environment.
In this conference, we are interested in receiving innovative papers on emerging technologies related to Internet and distributed systems to support the effective design and efficient implementation of high-performance computer networks and next-generation collaborative systems. The target audience includes researchers and industry practitioners that are interested in different aspects of the Internet and distributed systems, with a particular focus on the practical experiences with the design and implementation of related technologies as well as their theoretical perspectives.
Publications
The conference proceedings will be published as Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science,
and will be made available to all conference registrants on site. All
papers will also be electronically available through SpringerLink
Database and professionally indexed through ISI Conference Proceedings
Citation Index - Science (CPCI-S), EI, Scopus, ACM Digital Library,
